Hekipia targets flexible pitch development with new Kanopé

French accommodation specialist Hekipia has unveiled the Kanopé, a compact mobile rental unit designed to help campsite operators maximise challenging pitches while responding to growing demand for nature-oriented holiday experiences. According to the manufacturer, the new model combines the appeal of cabin-style accommodation with the operational flexibility increasingly sought by campsite and resort operators.

Kanopé offers 14 square metres of interior living space and a 13 square metres covered terrace, with accommodation for up to four guests. The concept is positioned as a lightweight, adaptable alternative for operators looking to diversify their rental stock without committing to larger accommodation footprints.

One of the product’s key selling points is its ability to be installed on parcels that may be difficult to exploit using more traditional accommodation solutions. Hekipia states that the unit’s compact dimensions and mobile chassis design make it suitable for smaller pitches as well as sites facing specific regulatory or environmental constraints, including certain flood-risk areas. An optional registered chassis further enhances mobility and deployment possibilities.

Hekipia has placed considerable emphasis on the outdoor living experience. The covered terrace effectively doubles the usable lifestyle space, while optional features such as decking and a fabric pergola allow operators to tailor the guest experience to local market requirements.

Inside, Kanopé aims to deliver a glamping-inspired atmosphere through a compact but fully equipped layout. Standard features include a double bedroom, bathroom, equipped kitchenette, convertible seating area and underfloor heating. The latter is particularly relevant for campsites seeking to increase occupancy during shoulder seasons and extend annual operating periods.

The launch comes at a time when many European campsite operators are looking for accommodation products capable of generating incremental rental inventory without requiring extensive site redevelopment. In this context, mobility, installation flexibility and investment efficiency are becoming increasingly important purchasing criteria.

Hekipia positions Kanopé as an accessible investment solution, available through both direct purchase and long-term rental arrangements. Manufactured in France and offered with a range of customisation options, the model reflects a broader trend toward more versatile accommodation concepts that can adapt to evolving operational and environmental requirements.
