Tiny houses and mobile homes help HolaCamp achieve record July

Spanish campsite network HolaCamp has reported record occupancy figures of 85.2 per cent for July, with much of that success driven by its offering of tiny houses, mobile homes, and bungalows.

This record figure is 13.6 per cent higher than that of July 2024 for HolaCamp, which has 11 locations in Spain and one in Portugal.

Leading the charge in this record-breaking month are diverse accommodation options, including tiny houses, which had 93.2 per cent occupancy on weekends in July, and mobile homes, which had 79.9 per cent occupancy.

Glamping also showed strong figures, with 82.9 per cent occupancy for serviced units, and 83.8 per cent for non-serviced units.

“The camping sector continues to innovate and offer more services tailored to all audiences,” said HolaCamp CEO Alfonso Leprevost. “More and more families are discovering that the traditional image of camping has evolved into a much more complete and comfortable concept.

“The rising cost of hotel reservations is attracting a new type of customer to our campsites. We are seeing clear growth in types of accommodation such as glamping, which are moving away from traditional adventure tourism and prioritising comfort and services without sacrificing the experience of being surrounded by nature.”

This news from HolaCamp comes against a background of Spain enjoying a very strong summer for open-air tourism. According to the latest figures from the Federación Española de Campings and the Spanish National Statistics Institute, an expected 6.5 million tourists from both Spain and overseas will enjoy a holiday on a campsite this summer.

While figures for August have not yet been finalised, the signs look promising for companies such as HolaCamp and the wider Iberian camping market.
