International wood-based materials manufacturer Egger Group has announced that it has acquired 100 per cent of the shares of Italian recycling company Lenocart srl.
Egger says that this acquisition will further expand its recycling network in Italy and strengthen its access to recycled timber in one of the country’s most important economic and metropolitan regions (Milan).
The takeover took effect on 28 July 2026. EGGER is thus underlining its strategic commitment to further expanding its international network of recycling collection sites under the name Egger Timberpak.
“The acquisition of Lenocart is an important step towards strengthening our recycling network in Italy. The Milan region offers great potential for the collection of recycled wood. Together with the experienced Lenocart team, we aim to further develop the business and contribute to a more circular use of resources,” explains Giuseppe Conti, plant manager at the Egger plant in Caorso and responsible for wood procurement.
The Lenocart site currently collects 10,000 tonnes of recycled wood annually and will contribute to the supply of recycled wood to the Egger plant in Caorso. There, Egger produces chipboard made from 100 per cent recycled wood, thereby consistently focusing on the high-quality use of wood as a valuable raw material within a circular economy.
