Glampings.com announces acquisition of African booking platform Conservio

Online luxury camping experience booking platform Glampings.com has announced that it has acquired nature and safari accommodations online platform Conservio.

The acquisition means that Glampings.com has expanded its international offering to more than 1,000 bookable nature lodges, thanks to the wide range of accommodations that Conservio offers in South Africa, Namibia, and more.

Glampings.com says the acquisition is part of its growth acceleration strategy and allows it to enter a new segment and new region simultaneously – offering end users a wide range of exceptional stays in nature, combined with comfort, quality, and an inspiring online booking experience.

“The acquisition of Conservio fits perfectly into our plan for strategic and international growth,” said Glampings.com Co-Founder Sven Schuurmans. “Beyond expanding our offering, we’re also bringing in valuable experience with Conservio’s co-founder and CEO Justin Rijnberg. That’s exactly what we need to realise our ambition: becoming the largest glamping platform in the world, with more than 35,000 accommodations.”

Fellow Co-Founder, Tom Groenen, added: “With this acquisition, we’re not just bringing in inventory, but also deep technological and market expertise.

“Justin built Conservio from the ground up in a complex region. We’ll use that experience to accelerate the development of our platform. In the coming period, we’ll make even greater use of smart AI, which will allow us to further optimise operational processes within Glampings.com and onboard partners even faster.”

Conservio’s Justin Rijnberg is delighted with the deal, stating that his company has found a partner that aligns well with its vision.

“By joining forces, we create a strong foundation to further strengthen the offering, reach a wider audience, and grow internationally under the Glampings.com umbrella,” he said.
