Italian mobile home producer Crippaconcept has unveiled a new mobile home suite called the Cocoon to coincide with the company’s 50th anniversary.
An evolution of its Victoria Room model, the Cocoon was showcased for the first time at the 2025 Open Air Forum in Rome, Italy, from 22 to 23 October.
Crippaconcept was a main partner for the event, which is run by Italian open-air tourism association, FAITA Federcamping.
Sergio Redaelli, CEO of Crippaconcept, said: “With Cocoon, we are celebrating 50 years of experience by looking to the future of glamping and open-air tourism

“It is not just a mobile home suite, but an organic and emotional architecture that redefines the relationship between living comfort and immersion in nature.
The circular veranda is the beating heart of the project: a space that envelops guests in a protective embrace, inviting them to slow down, contemplate, reconnect with the environment and with themselves, at a time when travellers and guests are increasingly seeking authenticity and regenerative experiences.”
The heart of the Cocoon is the circular veranda, inspired by research shared with Tissa&Partners and designed by Crippaconcept – it is designed to be an experiential threshold, according to the company.
Crippaconcept’s research and development team said: “The curved shape of the veranda creates a continuous dialogue between inside and outside. The vertical wood, repeated as a visual diaphragm, evokes a reed bed, a forest, a natural shell. Cocoon is an invitation to slow down, to reconnect with nature and with oneself.”

The mobile home is 34 square metres, has a double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, a bright living area, a customisable layout with or without a kitchen, and is completely removable with no foundations and zero new land consumption.
Also inside the mobile home is an Energy Saving System, which allows it to operate in a much more sustainable way.
