Alucasa, a Spanish company that has been producing mobile homes and bungalows for almost 50 years, has announced that it is entering the tiny home market.

The company, which is based just south of Elche in the Southeast of Spain, has produced two prototype tiny home models as part of the new project that it says is a response to the way tourism and leisure are changing.

Both prototype models – the EIRA and the LUMA – share a technical basis, high-quality materials, and fluid functionality, but are quite different in their overall look.

The EIRA is described as a boho-chic design with natural textures, white tones, vegetable fibres, and light woods. Alucasa says it brings a warm, relaxed, and bright aesthetic.

Meanwhile, the LUMA has a more minimalist and contemporary design with clean lines and more sober finishes. Alucasa says its modern, elegant, and functional look fits current clients who value sophistication in simplicity.

A news release by Alucasa said: “At Alucasa, we have been perfecting the construction of mobile homes for decades. We have accompanied thousands of families, tour managers and private clients with functional, durable models and adapted to their needs. However, what we are presenting today is something completely new for us: a background and shape evolution that marks the beginning of a new stage.

“This new product responds to new ways of travelling, the need for differentiating accommodations, growing interest in compact and functional models, and the evolution of modular design.”

Alucasa is hoping to pitch these new tiny homes at several different target customers in the professional sector, including campsites that want to incorporate a premium option, resorts and rural accommodations, tourist entrepreneurs, and investors from the tourism sector.
