Recreatie Vakbeurs show reveals knowledge programme for 2026

Outdoor tourism exhibition Recreatie Vakbeurs has announced the full schedule for the knowledge programme seminars for its 2026 event.

Taking place in Hardenberg, the Netherlands, from 17 to 19 November, the show gathers together manufacturers, service providers, and professionals from across the open-air tourism industry.

Alongside the 370 different exhibitors present at the show, the knowledge programme adds value for visitors by providing a wide range of informative and inspirational talks and practical sessions.

Topics set to be covered by the knowledge programme at Recreatie Vakbeurs 2026 include water technology, digitalisation, changing holiday behaviour, and the future of overnight leisure.

The water technology talks will be handled by Rudolf van de Velde from Wildkamp, while Martin Pohl will discuss developments in the Dutch-German holiday market and the changing behaviour of holidaymakers.

Another highlight is the ‘Speed up, Slow down’ symposium. This in-depth programme offers current themes, new insights and practical inspiration for the leisure sector, featuring, amongst others, leisure thinker, consultant and speaker Marlijn Pietersma.

For professionals wishing to explore the future of holiday accommodation in greater depth, there is the paid XL knowledge session ‘Holiday home of the future: the rise of mini-resorts as successful (re)development’. This in-depth session focuses on the future of holiday accommodation, redevelopment and the rise of small-scale leisure concepts.

“Through the knowledge programme, we offer professionals practical inspiration and insights that they can apply immediately within their organisations,” said Rozemarijn Spieard, marketing coordinator at the Recreatie Vakbeurs. “At the same time, we look ahead to developments that will influence the leisure sector in the coming years.”

The programme also includes the announcement of the nominations for the Go-Kids ‘Best Day Out of 2027’ award and a panel discussion on the integration of day-trip and overnight holiday sectors.
