Italian wood panel producer Maller has revealed a new partnership with MyP Magnetica Italiana, which has resulted in the launch of an innovative new product that offers increased flexibility for end users.
Maller has created a new technical panelling product that features MyP Magnetica Italiana’s FLEXOEXPOTM technology, which allows for lighting, shelves, and other accessories to be magnetically attached to the panel without any need for screwing or drilling.
FLEXOEXPOTM is a proprietary elastomer magnetic matrix that has been structurally integrated into Maller’s panels during production, which creates a surface that generates or closes a controlled magnetic circuit, capable of reversibly fixing finishes, coatings, accessories and furnishing modules without any permanent mechanical attachment.
Maller says that: “The difference from traditional decorative magnetic systems is substantial: each element of FLEXOEXPOTM contributes to the overall performance of the surface, regardless of orientation or function. The system is designed as a platform, not as a single product.”
The system complies with the main European directives — 2013/35/EU (electromagnetic fields), RoHS, REACH and EN 71 — and is certified for high-stress environments. The technology is currently being industrially patented (question no. 102025000012721).
Maller brings in this collaboration over 50 years of expertise in the ennobling of wood and in the production of technical panels. MyP brings patented, engineered and certified magnetic technology for high-stress environments.
The result is something neither of them could have developed on their own: a panel that is no longer just a surface, but a functional infrastructure.
