Bio Habitat Italia reaffirms commitment to sustainability

Italian mobile home producer Bio Habitat Italia (BHI) is entering 2026 with a continued strong commitment towards making its products and its manufacturing processes as sustainable as possible.

BHI, which is the Italian company of French group Bio Habitat, claims that it builds mobile homes that are entirely recyclable, low-consumption and made with wood from sustainably managed forests, and that all its models follow an environmentally friendly manufacturing process and are eco-designed.

Many components of BHI mobile homes are chosen with sustainability and more efficient energy use in mind, such as LED lighting, Class A+ appliances, double-exhaust flush, and taps with flow reducers.

The company also attempts to ensure that the recyclability of its end-of-life models is as close to 100 per cent as possible.

A great example of BHI’s continued commitment in this area was showcased in the last few years with its GREEN model, which included three distinct strategies aimed at reducing the impact on the environment: the use of natural raw materials (plant wool, bamboo furniture…), the use of recycled materials, and the choice of energy-efficient materials such as photovoltaic panels and coatings designed to limit the increase in temperature in the mobile home.

Many of these ideas and innovations have carried over into BHI’s current ranges, including its most recently revamped LOUNGE model that features 15 different models ranging in size from 20 to 40 sqm, with the possibility to choose a floorplan with either two or three bedrooms.
