Specialist wood manufacturer Finsa has agreed a licensing agreement with Unilin Technologies to integrate the latter’s Unicoat edge coating technology into its laminate flooring portfolio.
Finsa will be integrating this state-of-the-art water-repellent edge treatment that significantly improves the water resistance of laminate flooring across all product lines of its flooring facility, with the support of Unicoat machinery partner Shiele and coating supplier PTS.
“We are excited to work with Unilin and to bring the benefits of the Unicoat technology to our customers,” said Pablo García. “As water resistance becomes increasingly important for both residential and commercial flooring, this innovation allows us to stay ahead of the curve,” concludes Estibaliz Jurado, both from the Finsa Flooring team.
Unilin Technologies’ Floris Koopmans added: “Finsa’s adoption of Unicoat confirms the growing importance of waterproof performance in the laminate category.

Finsa is just the latest European producer to integrate Unicoat into its range. The company specialises in a wide range of wood manufacturing across a wide range of industries, including mobile homes and other hospitality applications.
