The International Committee of the Decorative Laminates Industry (ICDLI) has published a new white paper that highlights the benefits of European-made high-pressure laminates (HPL) compared to imports from outside Europe.
Entitled European HPL: Engineered for Excellence, the white paper is aimed at promoting the benefits of European-made HPL and the qualities that make it a high-performance material for a wide range of applications.
HPL is a functional and highly durable surface material with a wide variety of decors and unusual, extraordinary surface textures – its key features include a high resistance to wear, weather and chemicals; a long service life; virtually unlimited design possibilities; proven performance based on international standards; and the potential to contribute to sustainable design through the use of renewable raw materials.
“The white paper fills a gap in representing a shared industry commitment to quality, sustainability and technical excellence,” said Sven Weihe, General Secretary of ICDLI. “It provides all member companies with a common language for communicating the strong benefits of European HPL to all relevant stakeholders along the value chain and public.”
The publication has been designed primarily as a practical communication tool for ICDLI members. It supports discussions with architects, designers, planners and end users by presenting the key advantages of European HPL in a clear and accessible format. At the same time, it strengthens the industry’s common positioning by clearly communicating the values that distinguish European HPL manufacturers.
