Brianza Plastica reveals ‘thinnest flame-retardant laminate on the market’

Italian materials expert Brianza Plastica has revealed a new product – Elyplan FP400 – that it claims is the thinnest and lightest flame-retardant laminate on the market.

The Elyplan FP400 laminate, which is just 0.8mm in thickness, has been created to cater for a growing demand in the market for products with improved fire performance that are compliant with various European and international standards.

Brianza Plastica says that the product is in the highest class achievable by fibreglass laminates, which, according to the international standard UNI EN 13501‑1 – classifying materials by fire and smoke behaviour – is class B (B-s1 d0).

More than 60 years of experience and the latest technologies from Brianza Plastica’s research and development department have gone into creating this material, in which organic resin derived from natural materials is used, making the product a safer choice for both the environment and human health.

The company says that: “a remarkable aspect is that all fire performance tests are carried out directly on the laminate, without any support.”

Based in the north of Milan, Brianza Plastica was founded in 1962, originally producing translucent laminates in fibreglass for commercial and industrial applications. Over the years, the production was expanded with sites in Italy and Europe, introducing new products able to meet the most varied roofing needs.

Today, it is a modern company with clients across numerous different industries, including recreational vehicles and mobile homes.
