Unilin debuts new installation technology Squareclic

Unilin Technologies is showcasing a new installation technology developed specifically to enable easy, precise and durable checkerboard flooring at two major shows, Domotex in Hannover and The International Surface Event in Las Vegas.

Squareclic, as the technology is called, addresses the problems of achieving and maintaining perfect alignment with checkerboard patterns on flooring, thanks to the help of an integrated insert that mechanically fixes the position of each tile.

The design means that movement between panels is eliminated, making installation easier and more accurate, as well as giving the option to easily remove the tiles at the end of their life.

“Checkerboard patterns look fantastic, but they leave little margin for error,” said Floris Koopmans (pictured above), Sales and Marketing Director at Unilin Technologies.

“Squareclic minimises the risk of shifting panels while making the installation easier than ever. The integrated insert automatically locks into the other panel, creating the perfect alignment between tiles. It keeps the floor looking exactly as intended, even years after installation. Squareclic is a great example of how we translate real market needs into practical, robust technologies. It combines design freedom with technical reliability and gives manufacturers full flexibility in how they bring patterned tile products to market.”

Squareclic is fully compatible with Unilin’s existing click systems, allowing manufacturers to integrate the technology into their current product platforms with minimal changes needed.

The insert can be pre-installed during production, further simplifying on-site installation: just angle in the panels and the floor is ready. In addition, Squareclic is also compatible with products manufactured with and without a pad-attached.
