SETT changes its name and evolves: the Montpellier tourism fair expands into new markets

SETT, the Montpellier trade fair for tourism professionals, is evolving with a new name: Salon Européen des Tendances Touristiques, replacing its previous title, Salon des Équipements et Techniques du Tourisme. While keeping the well-known acronym, the event now reflects its increasingly European dimension, emphasizing its growing international reach in recent years.

Since its foundation in 1978, SETT has become an essential meeting point for tourism professionals, attracting an ever-expanding international audience. Today, more than 10% of visitors come from abroad, demonstrating the fair’s strong appeal beyond France’s borders.

Focus on Germany, the Netherlands and Northern Europe

Each year, SETT welcomes exhibitors from across France and Europe, with a significant presence of campsite operators from Spain, Italy, and Portugal. Building on this success, the fair is now setting its sights on new markets, with a particular focus on Germany, the Netherlands and Northern Europe.

This ambition has been confirmed by the Fédération de l’Hôtellerie de Plein Air Occitanie (FHPA Oc), the event’s organizer: “These markets offer tremendous growth potential for an event that is already a leader in France and Europe. At the 2024 edition, this goal was highlighted in an innovative roundtable discussion titled Working together at a European level’, bringing together representatives from various European HPA (open-air hospitality, ed.) federations, including the UK, Portugal, and Luxembourg. This exchange of ideas underscored SETTs commitment to establishing itself as a must-attend event for tourism professionals across the continent”.

Next edition in November 2025

The next edition is scheduled for November 4, 5, and 6, 2025, at the Parc des Expositions in Montpellier. This new edition will not only come with a new name but also with the excitement of last year’s record-breaking results, which saw 350 new products presented, 730 exhibitors and 18,647 trade visitors (of which 10.5% from abroad) bringing life to the 10 exhibition halls of the venue. The organizers are now aiming to create an even more ambitious event to consolidate the results already achieved and continue to grow, strengthening the role of SETT as a leading European showcase for the tourism sector.
